Calendula Extract

INCI Name: Glycerin, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Chlorophenesin, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol.

Multiple Uses: The Calendula flower is well known and easily recognized, both visually and by scent. The flower is used in many religious ceremonies throughout Southeast Asia. In India, especially, entire towns can seem to be decked out entirely of orange calendula flowers, with their scent heavy in the air.

For just about as long, these cultures have also used the flower for its skin and hair benefits, as well as for medicinal purposes. It contains high moisturizing ingredients that make it very useful in lotions and conditioners.

Why do we prefer extracts in liquid form? They are easy to use in bases and do not normally require heating to be properly mixed in. Many customers have expressed frustration when attempting to incorporate extract powders into viscous formulations due to issues with powders not fully dissolving.
